What it is
The next shot's sound arrives early (J) or the previous shot's sound carries over (L).
When to use it
Natural dialogue flow, emotional continuity.
When not to
When a clean hard cut is wanted.
Often confused with
- Dissolve
A dissolve overlaps picture; J/L overlaps sound.
Common generation mistakes
