Projects and episodes

Sign in, create projects, switch episodes and find project settings.

This guide includes newer client features, some of which may be awaiting release. Availability depends on the app version you have installed.

A project holds the shared material for a production. An episode holds its screenplay, shots and edit. A short film can use just one episode.

  1. Open Rolin and choose the browser sign-in action.
  2. Sign in or register on the website. Complete any email verification or invitation-code steps shown there.
  3. Check that the website shows the account you intend to use, allow it to open Rolin, then return to the app.

If the app does not resume automatically, expand its fallback sign-in area. Reopen the browser, or paste the login code provided by the website and submit it. Start sign-in again if the code has expired.

Create or open a project

Create a project from Home and give it a name. Open existing work from the project list. When continuing a project from another device, allow its data and media to download and sync first.

Use the workbench navigation to switch between Inspiration, Screenplay, Shot list, Assets, Storyboard, Studio, Video and Editing. These are different areas of the same project.

Switch and manage episodes

The newer title bar shows Home › Project › Episode. Use the episode dropdown to switch the current episode. Open episode management from the Project system menu to manage the episode list.

Check the episode name before editing a screenplay or generating a shot. Characters, props, locations and prep notes are project-level material. Screenplays, shot lists, videos and edits are organized by episode.

Change project settings

Open Project → Basic settings in the system menu to view or change settings such as aspect ratio, delivery standard and visual style. Editing requires permission.

Generation forms can also have task-specific aspect ratio and style controls. Check the current form before submitting instead of relying solely on project defaults.

Return Home or close a project

The Home breadcrumb returns to the project list while the current project can remain active. To explicitly close it, use Project → Close project or the project card’s close action on Home.

Handle any save, sync or leave confirmation before switching. Returning Home, closing a project and deleting a project are different actions.
