Use observable states to diagnose a problem. A local message alone is not the final cloud result or billing record.
Why is Generate disabled?
Hover the button for a reason. Check sign-in, editing permission, current shot, required inputs, model support and whether referenced media has downloaded.
Keyframe mode may need a usable reference image; Edit needs a source video. If character voices are included, the mode and model must support reference audio. See Video.
A job is still generating. Should I submit it again?
Check the task center to distinguish queued, processing, downloading and failed. Queued does not mean submission failed. Avoid duplicate submissions while the outcome is unclear; keep the task details and time.
Cancelable jobs provide an action, but work already sent to a provider may not stop immediately. See Membership and billing.
Why can I see a card but not open its media?
The card’s data can sync before the media file. Check for the downloading state and wait for the original. If it keeps failing, record the message, time and project, and check network and permissions. See Collaboration and sync.
Why is a generated result missing from versions?
Results first enter history. Add one to versions to retain it there. Retaining is not finalizing or adopting. See Assets and the Glossary.
Why is my timeline empty after adoption?
Adoption updates the editing library. Open Editing and drag or append the media to a track. A new edit does not populate automatically. See Editing.
Why did adopting another Take not change my edit?
Ordinary adoption does not replace timeline clips. Upscaled Takes offer a separate confirmation only when clips in the current episode still use their source Take. Confirm to replace those clips or keep the original to leave them alone. Keeping the original does not undo the upscale Take’s adoption. See Editing.
Where is the newest result?
Asset and video history is now chronological, with the newest at the bottom. Lists initially open at the top and scroll down when generation starts. Scroll to the bottom to find recent results.
Why is Upscale disabled?
Open a successful Take whose video is already on this Mac. Keyframe images and generating or failed results cannot use video upscaling. You also need a higher available target and an enabled upscale model. Hover for the reason.
Why must I still retain or adopt an upscale result?
Upscaling creates a separate Take and keeps the source. If the source was retained or adopted, the result is automatically added to versions; otherwise it first stays in history. Neither case automatically adopts it. Inspect the result and decide.
Why are fewer video models available with a character voice?
Only models supporting reference audio are offered. Check the voice row, exclude a character or skip voices for this generation. Keyframe and Edit modes currently require switching to Narrative or skipping voices. Project character images selected as actor references in Narrative mode also bring their voice bindings. See Video.
Why can’t an uploaded voice read new dialogue?
A recorded or uploaded sample can be played or used as a video voice reference. Reading new text requires cloning first, with the speaker’s consent. Speech charges follow actual character count and the selected model. See Assets.
Why can’t I delete a project voice?
A character is still using it. Change or clear those bindings, then delete it from the project library. Voices and bindings are shared, so check the intended scope with the team.
Why is the screenplay read-only, or AI planning unavailable?
Distinguish a locked screenplay from a read-only project. An authorized member must unlock the body before editing. AI shot planning requires a suitable locked draft. Also check the episode, permissions and whether suggestions are out of date. See Screenplay.
Where is AI shot planning?
In the current implementation it is in the assistant at the lower right of the shot-list page, not the storyboard grid’s header. Older versions may differ; check your client version.
Why did media disappear after switching episodes?
Screenplays, shots, videos and edits are episode-scoped. Check the title-bar episode. Project assets and prep notes serve the whole project.
Why did a capture save somewhere else?
Check whether you opened the tool for a storyboard, keyframe or technical reference. Keyframes accept stills only. Look for unbound studio captures in project assets. See Canvas and reference tools.
Why is an export black or silent?
Check timeline gaps, video-track output, original-audio muting, audio-track muting and media readiness. Preview the same range before exporting again.
Browser sign-in finished. Why am I still outside the app?
Return to the app’s sign-in window and expand fallback options. Reopen the browser or use its login code. Restart sign-in if the code expired, and check that the web account and app service match. See Projects and episodes.
Why can’t a connected Agent edit?
Connection and task authorization are separate. Check the control panel on the bottom bar for editing permission, paused or ended grants, and the project and episode scope. Paid generation also requires an allowance. See Agent and MCP.
What should I include in feedback?
Record app version and build, time, workbench, steps, expected behavior and actual message. Include a screenshot of the relevant area and enough account/project context to identify the issue. Do not send passwords or login codes.
